Select Harvests Limited (ASX: SHV) has been informed that 4.5 million of its shares previously owned by Almonds Australia Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Timbercorp Limited have been placed by Bell Potter Securities to a range of high quality existing and new institutional and sophisticated investors. The shares were sold to Bell Potter Securities by Korda Mentha, the liquidators of Timbercorp Group. The 4.5 million shares represent 11.4% of Select Harvest's issued capital and were sold at a price of $3.85

Select Harvests has received a letter of demand from the Liquidators of Almond Management Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) (AMPL) in relation to Select Harvests' management agreement with AMPL for the 2006 Timbercorp Almond Project and Select Harvest's deductions from the proceeds of sales of the almond crop. The letter relates to fees and costs of Select Harvests relating to services it provided prior to 1 July 2009, which Select Harvests deducted from harvest proceeds prior to remitting them to AMPL. Whilst the Liquidators have not quantified their claim, Select Harvests estimates it may be in the order of $8M, inclusive of GST
